I grew up near Chestertown, so am quite familiar with the area. I also remember when they rebuilt the 213 bridge over the Bohemia River — probably around the same time. Prior to the renovations, that bridge, too, looked to be in really bad shape.
WOW! I remember this old bridge. I used to work at the resturant that would have been back behind the right shoulder of the camera operator when this picture was taken. I remember that they would raise up the draw and then because the bridge moved while the draws were open, they could not get the draws returned fully and would have to get road dept. people to come from far away to work on it. It was a relic to say the least!

It sure does appear to be rather worn. Was it originally built in the 1930s?
